I enjoyed this book very much. I really liked reading about Sabrina and Adam. I would like to know if there was a book published before this one that was about Jamie Armstrong and his wife Lily.
I loved this book! It was funny and had lots of twists and turns!
This is the 1st book i read by Patricia Grasso. I love all the characters, it feel like i'm in the story. Adam, star, is just so charming and i like the little character trade of Sabrina. They are the perfect couple. the book make me laugh from the begining. If u like humorus book this would be perfect.
Loved the book!!! Sabrina is realling from hers fathers death which has been ruled a suicide!!! She knows he did not commit suicide but how can she prove it!! Along comes Adam and his uncle the Duke who is Sabrina and her sisters guardian!! Adam promises he will find out what happened!!! You have intrigue, deception, twists, kisses and so much more all wrapped up in a wonderful book!!
Sabrina is a woman who has just lost her adoptive father to a suicide. She is deeply distraut and will do anything to clear her father's name of the stigma of suicide. Adam comes onto the scene during the burial and from there it is just one lie after another. Adam and Sabrina were betrothed when Sabrina was little more than in infant and now that her father is dead he is here to take control of her and her assets. Well, Sabrina is not going to stand for that. She lets Adam know exactly what she thinks about that!!! (A girl after my own heart) Sabrina has a tendency to bake when she is upset, which is quite a lot, and I loved this little quirky side to her. Sabrina eventually manages to persuade Adam to help her clear her father's name. What ensues is a funny, fast paced, and romantic story.
I liked this book and found it very easy to read. I did think that Sabrina was a little dense at times and the "plot" to capture the villian could have taken a few more twists and turns. But all in all, it was a delightful story to read.
The book opens with the death ruled as being suicide of Sabrina Savage�s adopted father. Sabrina and her sister are attempting to get their father an honourable burial, but are being thwarted by both their parish priest and their good friend. Adam, Marquess of Stonehurst proves himself a saviour when he arrives and helps Sabrina toll the bell for her father. The two have not met before, but it emerges that Adam was on his way to meet with the Savage family. Further, that their families have long arranged the betrothal of the two. Drawn to Adam, Sabrina nonetheless vows not to marry until her father�s death is proven to be the murder she and her sister know that it must be. Further, she will marry Adam only if she cannot find a more �suitable� fiancé among London�s ton. Adam knows she will not, and agrees to her conditions. But Adam is not entirely what he seems. Sabrina hates lies, but it seems that all those about her are lying in some way or another (except for her sister) and she has to sort through the lies, find the villain and establish her father�s good name before she can forgive and find happiness with her new husband.
This is a standard enough Regency romance / murder mystery with enough of each to keep readers of each genre happy I should think. There are some interesting twists (Sabrina�s birth father) although conversely there is also much that is predictable (her birth mother). Sabrina is a good Regency character, with her manic baking spells and good humour. It�s not a book to hold you spellbound from start to finish, but is nonetheless a good way to spend a couple of hours.
